Book Bank Scheme: I
The scheme provides free textbooks to Adi Dravidar/Tribal students pursuing professional courses like Medical, Engineering, Law, MBA, and others, which must be returned to the library after course completion.
About This Scheme
Under the โBook Bank Scheme: Iโ, launched by the Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department, Tamil Nadu, textbooks are purchased by the government and provided to libraries in educational institutions for the use of students in professional courses such as Medical, Engineering, Law, MBA, Veterinary, Agriculture, and Polytechnic. Adi Dravidar and Tribal students, who receive the Government of India Scholarship, can access these books during their studies. After completing the course, students must return the books to the library.

Free Textbooks Access: Students receive textbooks for their entire course duration at no cost from the library.
Note: On completion of the course the students should return the books to the Library.
Eligibility Criteria
The beneficiary should be a resident of Tamil Nadu.
The beneficiary should be a student.
The beneficiary should belong to the Adi Dravidar/ Tribal communities.
The beneficiary must be receiving any Scholarship by the Government of India.
The beneficiary must return the books after completing the course.
The beneficiary must be enrolled in one of the following courses:
Medical
Engineering
Law (BL/LLB 3 years and 5 years, LLM/ML 2 years)
MBA (2 years)
Veterinary
Agriculture
Polytechnic
Chartered Accountants, Cost Accountants (Intermediate, Final)
Postgraduate Technical Courses in Medical, Engineering, Agriculture, Veterinary
Other equivalent professional studies, including Bio-Science.
Application Process
Apply Offline
Step 1: The interested applicant should collect the application form from the Principal of their respective educational institution.
Step 2: In the application form, fill in all the mandatory fields, paste the passport-sized photograph (signed across, if required), and attach copies of all the mandatory documents (self-attest, if required).
Step 3: Submit the duly filled and signed application form along with the documents to the educational institution.
Step 4: Request a receipt or acknowledgment from the concerned authority to whom the application has been submitted. Ensure that the receipt contains essential details such as the date and time of submission, and a unique identification number (if applicable).
