The scheme aims to promote sustainable livelihoods and economic empowerment of the urban poor by providing financial support and guidance for establishing self-employment ventures, strengthening their family’s economy, and generating new employment opportunities.
About This Scheme
The “Self-Employment Programme” is an initiative under the Deen Dayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Urban Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NULM), implemented by the Nagar Nigam Dehradun under the Department of Urban Development, Government of Uttarakhand. The scheme aims to promote sustainable livelihoods and economic empowerment of the urban poor by providing financial support and guidance for establishing self-employment ventures, strengthening their family’s economy, and generating new employment opportunities.
Benefits
Under the Self-Employment Programme, the beneficiary in urban areas enhances their livelihood while strengthening their own and their family’s economic condition.
Under the Self-Employment Programme, the beneficiary is provided a loan of up to ₹2.00 lakh through the bank.
There is a provision for interest subsidy under the Self-Employment Programme, where 7% of the interest is borne by the beneficiary and the remaining is shared by the Government of India and the State Government.
Under the Self-Employment Programme, the beneficiary can generate new employment and also expand existing employment opportunities.
Eligibility Criteria
The beneficiary must be a resident of Uttarakhand.
The beneficiary is eligible for this scheme under the municipal body area.
The annual income of the beneficiary’s family must be less than ₹3.00 lakh, as per the standards of the Government of India.
Application Process
Apply Offline
Under the Self-Employment Programme, the application form must be obtained from the municipal body. The beneficiary must attach the following with the application form: Aadhaar card, income certificate or a self-declared ₹10/- affidavit (stating that no loan has been taken earlier from any bank), a project report of the activities to be undertaken by the beneficiary with an estimated cost of up to ₹2.00 lakh, one passport-size photograph, address proof such as a ration card or electricity bill, bank passbook, and photocopies of all the above documents. The completed application form along with these documents must be submitted to the municipal body. The application process at the municipal level is free of charge.
At the municipal level, the applications under the Self-Employment Programme are scrutinized.
The loan application form under the Self-Employment Programme is presented before a task force committee constituted by the municipal body. The task force examines the application form by reviewing the documents attached by the beneficiary and interacting with the beneficiary. After this process, the beneficiary’s loan application form is sent by the municipal body to the concerned bank.
