The scheme “Gunavatta Evam Navaachar Nishulk Paathy Pustak” is a scheme under the Samagra Shiksha Programme, implemented by the Secondary Education Department, Government of Uttarakhand. Every year, in accordance with the guidelines of the Directorate of Elementary and Secondary Education, free textbooks are provided to all students from Classes 1 to 8 in government schools, government-aided schools, and recognized madrasas following the state government curriculum.

Eligibility Criteria

The applicant must be a student from Classes 1 to 8.

The applicant must be studying in a government or government-aided school, or a recognized madrasa that follows the Uttarakhand state government curriculum.

There is no selection process. Textbooks are distributed free of cost to all students from Classes 1 to 8 studying in the eligible schools.
