The selection process for this assistance is carried out periodically and is contingent on the availability of funds.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for this financial assistance, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• The applicant must be a resident of the Union Territory of Puducherry for a minimum of 5 years.
• The applicant’s annual income should not exceed ₹75,000.
• For those with Orthopaedic, Deaf, Dumb, or Blind disabilities, the minimum disability percentage must be 40% or higher.
• Applicants classified as Mentally Retarded must have an Intelligence Quotient (IQ) below 69.

Application Procedure

Applicants can choose to apply either offline or online.

Offline Application Steps

1. Visit the Office or Sub-Office of the Department of Social Welfare during office hours and request the application form from the designated staff.
2. Alternatively, download and print the application form from the official website.
3. Complete the application form by filling in all required fields, affixing a passport-sized photograph (signed, if necessary), and attaching all mandatory documents (self-attested if required).
4. Submit the filled application form along with required documents to the appropriate authority:
   • Puducherry: The Deputy Director, Differently Abled Section, Directorate of Social Welfare.
   • Karaikal: The Assistant Director, Social Welfare Department (Sub Office).
   • Mahe / Yanam: The Welfare Officer (ic), Social Welfare Department (Sub Office).
5. Request a receipt or acknowledgment upon submission, ensuring it includes critical details such as submission date, time, and a unique identification number (if applicable).

Online Application Steps

1. Visit the official e-District Portal of the Government of Puducherry.
2. Click on “Login” in the top right corner and select “Register a New Membership”.
3. Complete the registration form with all mandatory information, including Username, Password, Personal Details, and agree to the declaration. Fill in the Captcha Code and click “Signup”.
4. Login to the portal with your Username and Password, and fill in the Captcha Code.
5. Browse the list of government schemes by department and select the relevant scheme to access the online application form.
6. Fill in all required fields in the application form and upload necessary documents (self-attested if needed).
7. Agree to the declaration confirming the accuracy of the provided information. Submit the application and note the application number for tracking purposes, which will also be sent to your registered mobile number or email.
