Through this scheme, the children of industrial workers/employees, studying in classes 1st to 4th in recognized/approved schools are provided financial assistance for the purchase of textbooks/notebooks. The scheme aims to provide financial support for the educational needs of the children.
About This Scheme
The “Grant of Financial Assistance for Purchase of Textbooks/Notebooks to School-Going Children of Industrial Workers/Employees (GLWB)” is a Welfare Scheme by the Goa Labour Welfare Board, Department of Labour and Employment, Goa. It aims to provide financial support for the educational needs of children of industrial workers/employees. Through this scheme, children studying in classes 1st to 4th in recognized/approved schools are provided financial assistance for the purchase of textbooks/notebooks.
Benefits
Financial Assistance (based on the child’s Level of Education)
Class 1st: âš1,200.
Class 2nd: âš1,200.
Class 3rd: âš1,800.
Class 4th: âš1,800.
Purpose
Purchase of Textbooks / Notebooks.
Disbursement
Through the management of the Head of the Institutions where their children are studying.
Eligibility Criteria
The applicant should be a regular industrial worker/employee of the Goa Labour Welfare Board.
The applicant should have at least 6 months of continuous service.
The applicant should not be employed in supervisory or managerial roles earning âš1,600/- and above per month.
The applicant should have wages/salary not exceeding âš20,000/-.
The applicant should have children studying in classes 1st to 4th in recognized/approved schools.
Criteria for Selection
Lowest income of the parents.
Preference will be given to the students studying in higher classes.
Workers having not more than two children will be given priority.

Apply Offline
Step 1: The interested applicant should take print of the
prescribed format
of the application form for the scheme from the Official Website of the Department of Labour and Employment, Goa.
Step 2: In the application form, fill in all the mandatory fields, paste the passport-sized photograph (if required), and attach copies of all the mandatory documents (self-attest, if required).
Step 3: The interested applicant should submit the duly filled and signed application form and the documents through their employers or through the Heads of Educational Institutions where their child is studying, to the Secretary, Goa Labour Welfare Board, 4th floor, Shram Shakti Bhavan, Patto Centre, Panaji, Goa – 403 001.
*The application should reach the Secretary on or before 30th Sept, every year.
