Home Nursing Scholarship Scheme (गृह नर्सिंग छात्रवृत्ति योजना)
The Home Nursing Scholarship Scheme, initiated by the Directorate of Social Welfare of the Government of Goa, aims to provide financial assistance to aspiring nursing students. This initiative is specifically designed for individuals belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, minorities, and differently-abled students, enabling them to pursue Home Nursing courses from recognized institutions.

The Home Nursing Scholarship Scheme offers comprehensive financial support for students enrolled in various nursing programs. This includes coverage for course fees, monthly maintenance allowances, and additional expenses for books, uniforms, and stationery. The scholarship not only alleviates the financial burden but also encourages students from marginalized communities to pursue their education in the healthcare sector.
Benefits of the Home Nursing Scholarship
- Course Fees:
- For Certificate Courses (minimum duration of six months): ₹3,500 or actual fees, whichever is lower.
- For Diploma Courses (minimum duration of one year): ₹5,000 or actual fees, whichever is lower.
- For Degree in Nursing (duration of three years): ₹10,000 or actual fees, whichever is lower.
- For Health Worker Course (minimum duration of one year): ₹3,500 or actual fees, whichever is lower.
- Monthly Maintenance Allowance:
- For Day Scholars:
- ₹500 for Scheduled Caste students
- ₹300 for other students
- For Hostellers:
- ₹800 for Scheduled Caste students
- ₹600 for other students
- For Day Scholars:
- One-Time Additional Amount:
- ₹1,000 for Certificate Courses (minimum duration of six months)
- ₹2,000 for Diploma Courses (minimum duration of one year)
- ₹3,000 for Degree in Nursing (duration of three years)
- ₹2,000 for Health Worker Course (minimum duration of one year)
Eligibility Requirements
- The applicant must be a student currently enrolled in an educational program.
- The applicant should be either born in Goa or have resided in Goa for a continuous period of at least 15 years.
- Admission must be secured at an institution recognized by the State or Central Government.
- The applicant should be pursuing one of the following courses:
- Certificate Course in Home Nursing (minimum duration of six months)
- Diploma in Home Nursing (minimum duration of one year)
- Degree in Nursing (duration of three years)
- Health Worker Course (minimum duration of one year)
- The combined annual income of the applicant’s parents or guardians must not exceed ₹1,50,000 from all sources.
- The applicant must belong to a Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Other Backward Class, or Minority group, or be differently-abled.
Note: Recipients of this scholarship are not permitted to apply for any other scholarship or stipend for the same course.
Exclusions
The scholarship will not be disbursed during any internship or housemanship periods.
Application Process
Online Registration
- Navigate to the Chief Minister Scholarship Portal, Government of Goa.
- Click on "Register" located at the top right corner of the homepage.
- Under the "Student Registration" section, click "Click Here" and complete the registration form with the necessary details including:
- Name
- Gender
- Category
- Date of Birth (DD-MM-YYYY)
- Aadhaar Number
- Address details
- Contact information
- Create a password (8 to 15 characters) and confirm it.
- Select "Register" and confirm the action on the popup.
Application Submission
- Post-registration, return to the Chief Minister Scholarship Portal.
- Click "Login" at the top right and enter your credentials.
- After logging in, select the relevant scholarship scheme for application.
- Click on "Fresh Application" in the side navigation bar.
- Complete the application form and upload the necessary documents in the specified formats.
- Click "Submit" to finalize your application.
Post-Application Steps
- Your application will be verified by your school or institution before submission to the Directorate for further processing.
- If any discrepancies are found, the application may be returned for corrections and resubmission.
Application Tracking
- Click on "Track Application" in the side navigation menu.
- Enter your Aadhaar Number and Date of Birth, then click "Submit".

Eligibility Criteria
1. The applicant should be a Student.
2. The applicant should have either been born in Goa or should have resided in Goa for continuously at least 15 years.

Diploma in Home Nursing of Duration of One Year or More.

Health Worker Course of Duration of One Year or More.
5. The annual income of the parent or guardian of the applicant (from all sources) shall not exceed ₹1,50,000/-.
6. The applicant should be from a Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe / Other Backward Class / Minority or be differently-abled.
NOTE: A scholarship holder under this scheme shall not avail of any other scholarship/stipend to pursue the same course.

COURSE FEES
For Certificate Courses of Duration of at Least Six Months: ₹ 3,500/- or Actual Whichever is Less.
For Diploma Courses of Duration of One Year or More: ₹ 5,000/-or Actual Whichever is Less.

Apply OnlineFor Registration
Step 1: Visit the Official Website
of the Chief Minister Scholarship Portal, Government of Goa.
Step 2: At the top right corner of the landing page, click "Register". You will be taken to the registration page
.
Step 3: On the registration page, under the "Student Registration" section, click "Click Here".
In the Student Registration Form, fill in the following fields:
Student's Name, Gender, Category, Date of Birth (DD-MM-YYYY), Aadhaar Number, House Number, Waddo/Street, Village Panchayat/Municipality, District, Taluka, Assembly/Constituency, City/Town/Village, PIN Code, Mobile Number, Email ID.
Step 4: Create a password ranging between 8 to 15 characters and confirm the same.
Step 5: Click "Register" and then click "Yes" to the Confirmation Popup.
For Application
Step 1: Upon successful registration, visit the Official Website
of the Chief Minister Scholarship Portal, Government of Goa.
Step 2: At the top right corner of the landing page, click "Login
".
Step 3: On the login page, fill in your username, password, captcha code, and click "Login".
Step 4: Upon logging in, a list of eligible schemes will be displayed. Click the scheme that you intend to apply for.
Step 5: In the "Apply" section on the side navigation bar, click "Fresh Application".
Step 6: Fill in all the mandatory fields of the Application Form and upload all the required documents in the specified format and size and click "Submit".
Post Application Process
1. After successful submission of the application, your school/institution will verify the application and submit it to the directorate for further scrutiny.
2. In case of an issue in the application form or documents uploaded, the school/institution can send back the application to the student for necessary corrections and resubmission.
Track Your Application
Step 1: In the side navigation bar, click "Track Application
".
Step 2: On the next page, provide your Aadhaar Number and Date of Birth, and click "Submit".
