This scheme aims to provide financial support to industrial units that have secured loans for establishing fixed assets and working capital, by offering a significant interest incentive.

Overview of the Scheme

The scheme offers an interest subsidy amounting to 25% of the annual interest paid by eligible industrial units on their loans. This benefit is designed to ease the financial burden on entrepreneurs and encourage the establishment of new industries in the region. Applications for this subsidy are accepted offline, requiring the completion of a specific form available from the official department website.

Advantages of the Scheme

• For Industries Established by SC/ST/Women Entrepreneurs:
  • Eligible industries that began production after August 2, 2004, can receive a 25% interest subsidy for a duration of five years, starting from the date of commercial production.
  • The maximum annual interest incentive is capped at ₹75,000.
• For Industries Established by SC/ST/Women/Physically Handicapped/Ex-Servicemen Entrepreneurs:
  • Industries initiating production post August 24, 2011, are eligible for a 25% interest subsidy, up to ₹5,00,000 per annum, for five years.

* The subsidy will be disbursed through the financial institution granting the loan.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the interest subsidy, the following criteria must be met:

• The industry must be established by SC/ST/Women entrepreneurs, or it must qualify as a “Thrust Area Industry” or an “IT Sector Industry”.
• The industrial unit should have taken a loan from a recognized financial institution for fixed assets or working capital.
• Production must have commenced on or after August 2, 2004.

Alternatively:

• The industry must be established by SC/ST/Women/Physically Handicapped/Ex-Servicemen entrepreneurs, or it must be classified as a “Thrust Area Industry” or an “IT Sector Industry”.
• The loan must have been availed after August 24, 2011, for fixed assets or working capital.
• Production should have commenced on or after August 24, 2011.

Note: “Financial Institution” includes PIPDIC, any Government Corporation, Scheduled Banks, Co-operative Banks, and Government Co-operative Societies.

Application Process

The application for the interest subsidy should be submitted offline. The following steps outline the process:

1. The industrial unit must fill out the claim form for the subsidy, available on the official website of the Directorate of Industries and Commerce, Puducherry.
2. Complete all required fields in the application form and attach copies of necessary documents (self-attestation may be required).
3. Submit the signed application form along with the documents to the relevant authority.
4. Request a receipt or acknowledgment from the authority confirming the submission, including details such as date, time, and a unique identification number, if applicable.

* The Industries Department will process these applications without needing to present them to the State Level Committee for sanctions.

Application Deadlines

• For New Units: Submit within one year from the date of receiving the Entrepreneurs Memorandum Part-2, Permanent Registration, or Commencement of Production Certificate.
• For Existing Units: Submit within one year after completing any Expansion, Diversification, or Modernization.
