The Integrated Social Security Scheme aims to provide financial relief to women in distress across the Union Territory of Ladakh. Overview of the Scheme

The “Pension for Women in Distress” is a vital segment of the Integrated Social Security Scheme (IGSSS), which is executed by the Social and Tribal Welfare Department of Ladakh. This scheme extends a monthly financial aid of ₹1,000 to eligible women facing severe economic hardships, specifically targeting those who are widowed, divorced, or abandoned.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the pension under this scheme, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • The applicant must be a permanent resident of the Union Territory of Ladakh.
  • The applicant should be a distressed woman, including widows, divorced, or deserted individuals.
  • The applicant must belong to the Below Poverty Line (BPL) category.
  • Applicants should be aged between 40 and 79 years.
  • The applicant must not have any source of income.

Application Procedure

Individuals can apply for the pension both online and offline. Here’s how:

Online Application Process

  1. Initial Registration:
    • Visit the Ladakh E-Seva Platform and find the “Go Live Services” section.
    • Select the ISSS scheme located under the ‘Social Welfare’ category.
    • Click on the ‘Registration’ tab on the top right of the page.
    • Follow the instructions provided and accurately fill out all required fields. Upload a passport-sized photo (JPG format) with a clear background, ensuring the file size is below 50 kB.
    • After successful registration, note down your User ID and Password for future access.
  2. Login to Apply:
    • Return to the Ladakh E-Seva Platform and navigate to “Go Live Services.”
    • Log in using your User ID and Password, select “Citizen” as your User Role, input the Captcha, and click “Submit.”
    • Once logged in, click on the “E-services” menu on the left.
    • Select the “Department of Social & Tribal Welfare” and find ‘Pension for Women in Distress’ under the “Integrated Social Security Scheme.”
    • Complete the application form accurately and upload the necessary documents before clicking “Submit.”

Offline Application Process

  1. Visit the office of the relevant Tehsil Social Welfare Officer (TSWO) and collect the application form at no charge.
  2. Fill out the form with accurate and clear information.
  3. Attach all required documents (self-attested if necessary) with the application.
  4. Submit your application to the TSWO and request a receipt confirming your submission.

Post-Application Process

The TSWO will compile a list of eligible applicants and forward it to the District Social Welfare Officer for fund allocation and sanctioning by the designated District level Sanctioning Committee, led by the Director of the Social Welfare Department, UT Ladakh.

Step 4: Note the User ID and Password after successful registration for future reference.
Login to apply for scheme benefits:
Step 1: To apply under the scheme, visit the ‘Ladakh E-Seva Platform
’ again and navigate to the “Go Live Services” tab on the right side of the screen. Select the ISSS scheme under the 'Social Welfare' section.
Step 2: Enter your login
credentials (Login ID and Password generated after registration), select "User Role" as "Citizen," enter the Captcha, and click on "Submit".
Step 3: After Login, the applicant has to click on the “E-services” tab in the left menu.
Step 4: Click on the “Department of Social & Tribal Welfare” and select ‘Pension for Women in Distress’ under the “Integrated Social Security Scheme”
Step 5: Fill in the required details accurately and upload the mandatory documents then click on Submit to complete the application process.

Apply Offline
Application Process:
Step 1: Visit the office of the concerned Tehsil Social Welfare Officer (TSWO) and collect the application form, which is available free of cost.
Step 2: Fill in all the required information accurately and legibly.
Step 3: Enclose all the mandatory documents (self-attested, if required) with the application.
Step 4: Submit the application to the TSWO and request a proper receipt acknowledging the submission.
Post-Application Process:
The concerned TSWO consolidates the list of eligible applicants under the scheme and forwards it to the concerned District Social Welfare Officer for arrangement of funds and accord of sanction by a designated District level Sanctioning Committee headed by the Director Social Welfare Department, UT Ladakh.
