Kalyanamastu Pathakam Scheme - Andhra Pradesh

The Kalyanamastu Pathakam Scheme (कल्याणमस्तु योजना) is an initiative by the Andhra Pradesh government aimed at promoting Vedic culture while providing financial assistance to girls marrying Brahmin boys who earn their livelihood through traditional Vedic professions. This program offers a one-time financial aid of ₹75,000 to eligible brides, fostering the continuation of Brahmin heritage and values.

Overview of the Scheme

Launched by the Andhra Pradesh Brahmin Welfare Corporation (APBWC), the Kalyanamastu Pathakam Scheme is designed to encourage Brahmin girls to marry boys engaged in professions such as Pourohityam, Veda Parayanam, and Archakatam. In today's society, there is a notable decline in the willingness of Brahmin girls to enter into marriage with boys from these traditional backgrounds. This scheme not only aims to mitigate that trend but also reinforces the significance of Vedic culture within the community.
