Advantages of the Scheme
- Financial Assistance: A marriage assistance package worth ₹25,000 is provided, which includes:
- ₹12,500 in the form of a National Savings Certificate.
- ₹12,500 as a cheque or Demand Draft to cover marriage expenses.
- Enhanced Support: If either partner holds a degree or diploma, the total assistance increases to ₹50,000, which is divided as follows:
- ₹25,000 as a National Savings Certificate.
- ₹25,000 as a cheque or Demand Draft for marriage expenses.
- Additional Benefits: Participants receive a certificate of appreciation along with an 8-gram gold coin, a traditional symbol of marriage known as Tirumangalyam for women.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for this scheme, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- The normal person must marry a visually impaired person.
- Both partners should be at least 18 years of age.
Furthermore, to qualify for the increased assistance, at least one partner must possess a degree or diploma.
How to Apply
Applications for this scheme must be submitted offline. Follow these steps to successfully apply:
- Visit the Office: Interested applicants should visit the District Differently Abled Welfare Office during official hours and request a hard copy of the application form from the designated staff responsible for issuing and collecting applications.
- Complete the Application: Fill in all required fields in the application form and attach self-attested copies of all necessary documents.
- Submit the Application: Hand over the completed and signed application form along with the required documents to the District Differently Abled Welfare Officer.
- Obtain Acknowledgment: Ensure to request a receipt or acknowledgment from the officer. This receipt should include crucial details such as the submission date and time, as well as a unique identification number if applicable.

Application Process
Apply Offline
Step 1: The interested applicant should visit (during office hours) the District Differently Abled Welfare Office and request a hard copy of the prescribed format of the application form from the staff exclusively entrusted to issue and collect filled-in applications.
Step 2: In the application form, fill in all the mandatory fields, and attach copies of all the mandatory documents (self-attest, if required).
Step 3: Submit the duly filled and signed application form along with the documents to the District Differently Abled Welfare Officer.
Step 4: Request a receipt or acknowledgment from the District Differently Abled Welfare Officer to whom the application has been submitted. Ensure that the receipt contains essential details such as the date and time of submission, and a unique identification number (if applicable).
