The scheme aims to enhance the employability of Gujarat’s youth through apprenticeship training, offering financial incentives to employers, and promoting skill development across various industries.
About This Scheme
The “Mukhyamantri Apprenticeship Yojana (MAY)”, launched in 2018-19 by the Labour and Employment Department, Gujarat, seeks to create a robust ecosystem for skill development through “on-the-job” and “off-the-job” training. The scheme aligns with national initiatives like the “National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS)” and the “National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS)”, targeting to engage 1 lakh youth in apprenticeships.
