Overview of the One Act Play Competition

The "One Act Play Competition" is an initiative by the Department of Art, Culture and Museums, Government of Goa, designed to foster personality development through theatrical expression among students. This competition invites participation from all educational institutions across Goa at the high school, higher secondary, and college levels, offering transport assistance in accordance with government guidelines.

The "One Act Play Competition at High School, Higher Secondary School, and College Level (Konkani, Marathi & English)" serves as a vital cultural platform established by the Government of Goa. It aims to enhance students' theatrical skills and overall personality development by providing an opportunity to perform on stage. Entries are welcomed through press announcements, and all educational institutions in Goa are eligible to participate. The plays are executed following the Kala Academy's programming, and institutions that take part will receive reimbursement for transportation costs as per established government policies.

  • Consolation Prize (2): Rs. 2,000/- each (Marathi, Konkani, English - contingent upon more than ten entries)

A free auditorium equipped with necessary infrastructure will be made available in accordance with the rules stipulated by the Kala Academy.

Eligibility Requirements

• All educational institutions, including High Schools, Higher Secondary Schools, and Colleges located in Goa, are eligible to participate in the competition.

Application Procedure

The application process for the competition is as follows:

• Step 1: Obtain the official application form provided through press announcements by the Kala Academy published in local newspapers.
• Step 2: Complete all required fields in the application form, attach a recent passport-sized photograph (signed if necessary), and include copies of all requisite documents (self-attested if necessary).
• Step 3: Submit the completed and signed application form along with the necessary documents to the Member Secretary, Kala Academy, Panaji, Goa, within the specified deadline (if applicable).
