Launched by the Industries and Mines Department of Gujarat, the "Scheme of Assistance for Common Environment Infrastructure" came into effect on August 7, 2020, and will continue until August 6, 2025. This umbrella scheme is designed to foster industrial growth by offering financial assistance, integrating modern technologies, and improving infrastructure within industrial parks and clusters. A specific component of this initiative, known as the “Scheme for Development of Green Estate,” focuses on the relocation or retrofitting of polluting industrial units into designated green estates, thereby aiming to minimize environmental pollution and promote sustainable industrial practices.

Key Benefits of the Scheme

Eligibility Criteria

  • The Industries Commissioner will appoint a professional agency for assessing the relocation requirements based on recommendations from GPCB.
  • The professional agency will conduct evaluations of pollution load, effluent quality, and overall environmental benefits.
  • Approval of the study report from the State Level Empowered Committee (SLEC) is mandatory prior to project execution.
  • Any institution or cluster of industries with polluting units, which have been recommended for relocation or retrofitting by GPCB, qualifies for the scheme.
  • Financial support is available for infrastructure expenses related to internal roads, power distribution, communication, water supply, sewage, effluent treatment, and other approved facilities.

Application Process

To apply for assistance under this scheme, follow the steps outlined below:

  1. Prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR).
  2. Complete the prescribed application form.
  3. Submit the application along with the required documents to the Industries Commissionerate.
  4. Wait for evaluation and approval from the State Level Empowered Committee. If approved, the financial assistance will be disbursed in phases based on the project's progress.
