The “State Award To Two Anganwadi Workers Under Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Schemes” was launched by the Directorate of Women and Child Development (DW&CD), Goa. The scheme aims to recognize the exemplary performance of Anganwadi Workers. The objective is to highlight their success in improving the coverage and quality of services delivered to children and pregnant and lactating mothers under the Integrated Child Development Services Scheme. Furthermore, the scheme recognizes their contribution towards the implementation of various programmes and schemes of the central Government, state Government, or local bodies. The award provides each selected Anganwadi Worker with a cash prize of βΉ5,000/- and a citation. The selection process is based on recommendations made by various authorities, which are then forwarded to a Scrutiny Committee.

Eligibility Criteria
The applicant must be an Anganwadi Worker under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Schemes.
The applicant must demonstrate exemplary performance in improving the coverage and quality of services provided to children and pregnant and lactating mothers under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Scheme.
The applicant must show contribution towards the implementation of programmes or schemes of the central Government, state Government, or local bodies.

Step 1: The recommendation for the award must be initiated by authorized officials or bodies, which include District/Block level Public Representation Institutions (PRIs), Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs), Members of Parliament (MPs), Womenβs Organisations, Child Development Project Officers (CDPO), District Programme Officers of Integrated Child Development Services Scheme, or the District Collector.
Step 2: The initiated recommendation, detailing the exemplary performance of the Anganwadi Worker, must then be put forward to the designated Scrutiny Committee for further review and selection.
