VAIBHAV Fellowship 2025 — Overview
The VAIBHAV Fellowship 2025 is an initiative by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India. This fellowship aims to connect Indian overseas scientists with universities, colleges, and government-funded research institutions in India, facilitating collaboration on ongoing research projects. Selected fellows will receive a fellowship amount of up to ₹4,00,000 per month and other benefits.

Eligibility Criteria
- Ph.D./M.D./M.S./M.Tech degree holders.
- Must be a non-Resident Indian (NRI), overseas, or a Person of Indian Origin (PIO).
- Engaged in active research with at least 5 years of experience in a foreign institute/university.
- Experience gained during Ph.D. and post-doctoral fellowship will not be considered.
- Applicants should not be current Ph.D./Post-doctoral fellows.
Stipend & Financial Benefits
The selected fellows will receive the following financial benefits:
- ₹4,00,000 per month for a minimum of 1 month and a maximum of 2 months per year, for a maximum period of 3 years.
- Round trip airfare from the parent institute to the place of work in India, in business class, once a year.
- Accommodation support of up to ₹7,500 per day.
- Contingency amount of ₹1,00,000 for research work in India.
- Domestic travel (economy class) for academic purposes up to two Indian academic/scientific institutes in a year.
How to Apply
- Visit the DST e-Project Management System (e-PMS) portal.
- Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required registration details.
- If already registered, log in using your credentials.
- Click on ‘Apply for Proposal’ on the top right side of the page.
- Select the ‘New PI Registration’ tab and enter the required details.
- Log in using valid credentials.
- Fill in the necessary details and upload the required documents in the online application form.
- Click on the ‘Submit’ button to complete your application.
